Funny enough, I find the lyrics of his game to fit his character perfectly. Emotional lyrics with two different meanings depending on if Shadow becomes everyone’s destroyer or savior. Like in SA2 when he wasn’t sure what path he was on. But the style of it being a metal rock song with the images of him riding motorcycles and using guns makes it over the top edge lord stuff. I recommend listening to an orchestral cover, such as the one from Stephen Ddungy Music. It fits who he is SA2 and 06 much better.

Mephiles maybe a part of Solaris but just because Elise extinguished the flame it doesn't necessarily mean that Mephiles was erased with it. Mephiles was a feul source that could have come from Black Doom and could have corrupted the flame's original purpose making it a destructive force. Mephiles in theory could return to seek out a new means of destroying the planet.

The Answer is pretty easy . He was too dark and serious for this franchise And Sega wants us forget sonic 06 , because people hated princess elise and Mephiles actualy killed sonic and nobody done that before this game. What a shame because he was probably the only seriously takeable villain in the entire sonic series and he has a very intresting background story.
